2. When do we collect your personal information?

• When you shop online, we collect your name, delivery address, email address, phone number, details of your orders and payment.
• When you access our website or interact with digital marketing communications or our online ads, we collect information about your device (such as your IP address, or device type), software and browser version, as well as information about how you use and interact with our website. This may include information such as how you navigated to our website, the pages or products you view, items you click on, searches performed and other browsing activity. This information may be collected through cookies and similar technologies and may be associated with a unique identifier (such as a cookie ID) that allows us to recognise returning visitors and understand browsing activity across visits. In some cases, we may analyse this information to understand customer interests and improve the relevance of content, product recommendations and advertising displayed on our websites.
• When you communicate with us (for example when you call our Customer Support team, interact with us on social media or provide feedback), we collect details of that interaction and the information you provided us with.
• When you subscribe to our emails or join our online community, we collect your email and first and surname.
• We may also collect personal information about you (such as your email and first and surname) from third parties such as your practitioner, for the purpose of your practitioner providing services to you.
  

3. Why do we collect your personal information?

We collect your personal information so that we can:

• Process and fulfill orders placed through our website
• Communicate with you about your purchases or enquiries
• Personalise your experience across our Metagenics online store and other Metagenics brands
• Provide marketing communications where permitted by law
• Analyse browsing behaviour and interactions with our online store in order to personalise website content, product recommendations and marketing communications
• Perform data analytics and reporting to improve our products, services and website
• Improve our business and operational practices generally
• As necessary, comply with our legal obligations, for instance when we are managing a product quality or safety issue and interacting with relevant regulatory bodies and other government entities

 Because our products relate to health, nutrition and wellness, browsing activity on our website may sometimes relate to particular health or wellbeing topics associated with the products we offer. While the information we collect generally consists of website interaction data rather than direct health information, analysing browsing behaviour may allow certain health-related interests to be inferred. We use this information only to improve the relevance of content, recommendations and services provided through our website.

4. What may happen if we do not collect your personal information?

If we do not collect your personal information, we may be unable to provide you with our products or services, process your orders, deliver products you have ordered, or otherwise do business with you.

We may disclose your personal information to our related bodies corporate and third parties for the purposes set out above. The third parties to whom we may disclose your personal information include:

• Other Metagenics brands who you may interact with (e.g., Inner Health, Ethical Nutrients)
• Social media companies and third parties where we display advertising – for example, we share certain information with digital platforms that allow them to serve you more relevant ads when you’re browsing third party websites and social media
• Your practitioner if your practitioner has linked you to them. You can opt out of being linked to your practitioner by contacting us below.

8. Overseas disclosure of your personal information

Most of our service providers are located in Australia and Singapore. However, from time to time we may need to engage a service provider located in a country not identified here. Additionally, we may disclose your personal information to our related entities, including those located in the United States. When sharing your personal information (including overseas), we take steps to ensure that recipients protect this personal information in accordance with Australian and New Zealand legal requirements and that they are only permitted to use personal information for the purpose for which it was shared.
